New Beginnings ~ Winter Solstice 2012 Celebration!

The Local Earth Collective invites you and the commUNITY of San Diego to join us for a celebration of the 2012 Winter Solstice on Dec. 21st! The Mayans along with many other cultures around the world view this solstice as the end of a cycle in history… and the beginning of anew.

We will be gathering as friends and community to usher in a healthy and positive transition into yet another cycle of history and time… a new beginning! Let us come together in a celebration of music, dancing, love, laughter, unity, diversity, peace and compassion!

May this moment in history bring us a harmonious integration of indigenous wisdom and appropriate technology. We are fortunate to be alive in a time of such potent transition and transformation. Let us embrace sustainable lifestyles that support a healthy relationship between our human family and the Earth that is home to us all. Let us embrace the simple joys of nature, friends, family and commUNITY!

Beth Preston ~ A Dear Friend of Local Earth

It is my honor to introduce you all to a dear friend of mine… and a dear friend of mother Earth… singer/songwriter Beth Preston. I had the great fortune of meeting Beth on the side of the road in Encinitas, CA years ago. My friend and I were captivated by the raw spirit that was effortlessly flowing from this beautiful soul busking on the curbside. We were going to get some ice cream and offered to pick some up for Beth… she asked if it was vegan… it was the beginning a dear new friendship.

The intention & passion behind Beth’s music is palpable to anyone who has the great opportunity of spending time with her. Beth’s deep connection to Nature, Mother Earth, Father Sky & Spirit overflows in her artful creations. Her voice provides us with natural medicine to nurture our souls and nurture the land we live upon… pure divine nectar!

Beth is in the proces or recording her new album “White Butterfly, Black Crow” in Colorado. She is reaching out to lovers of life, spirit and nature to help her bring this gift to the world… she has so many gifts to share! right now:
There are Tibetan Buddhist monks in a temple in the Himalayas endlessly reciting mantras for the cessation of your suffering and for the flourishing of your happiness.

Someone you haven’t met yet is already dreaming of adoring you.

Someone is writing a book that you will read in the next two years that will change how you look at life.

Nuns in the Alps are in endless vigil, praying for the Holy Spirit to alight the hearts of all of God’s children.

A farmer is looking at his organic crops and whispering, “nourish them.”

Someone wants to kiss you, to hold you, to make tea for you. Someone is willing to lend you money, wants to know what your favourite food is, and treat you to a movie. Someone in your orbit has something immensely valuable to give you — for free.

Something is being invented this year that will change how your generation lives, communicates, heals and passes on.

The next great song is being rehearsed.

Thousands of people are in yoga classes right now intentionally sending light out from their heart chakras and wrapping it around the earth.

Millions of children are assuming that everything is amazing and will always be that way.

Someone is in profound pain, and a few months from now, they’ll be thriving like never before. They just can’t see it from where they’re at.

Someone who is craving to be partnered, to be acknowledged, to ARRIVE, will get precisely what they want — and even more. And because that gift will be so fantastical in it’s reach and sweetness, it will quite magically alter their memory of angsty longing and render it all “So worth the wait.“

Someone has recently cracked open their joyous, genuine nature because they did the hard work of hauling years of oppression off of their psyche — thisluminous juju is floating in the ether, and is accessible to you.

Someone just this second wished for world peace, in earnest.

Someone is fighting the fight so that you don’t have to.

Some civil servant is making sure that you get your mail, and your garbage is picked up, that the trains are running on time, and that you are generally safe.Someone is dedicating their days to protecting your civil liberties and clean drinking water.

Someone is regaining their sanity. Someone is coming back from the dead. Someone is genuinely forgiving the seemingly unforgivable. Someone is curing the incurable.

Dear commUNITY,

From the bottom of my heart… THANK YOU for SHOWING UP and sharing in the creation and experience of commUNITY. This event touched my heart… the most real way it was touched, was by YOU showing up to support one another … and supporting our COMMON GOAL of creating a healthy and happy planet.

I was AWWWEED by the generous and beautiful human spirit that I witnessed in the creation of this event, and in the experience of the event itself. It is an honor to work with all of you, and to support one another in our community. WE all ROSE to the occasion to share positive vibes with one another… and inspired many people in the community with fresh ideas and ways to get involved in positive projects. I had so many people express what an amazing and uplifting time they had… people danced together, got their hands in the soil together, built a compost bin together, planted seeds with children, practiced yoga, laughed, smiled, hugged and experienced commUNITY! This is because YOU showed UP to help make this event happen… and participated in this event with your positive, loving vibe!

I am so grateful to all of you. I commit to serving you, this community and world in way I can that inspires positive, healthy and loving change. I offer the support and resources of Local Earth as an organization towards anything and anyone working to create a healthy and happy future for ALL on planet Earth. I feel that ANYTHING is POSSIBLE when WE work TOGETHER in cooperation, collaboration, creativity, compassion, love and passion towards shared common goals that support ALL BEINGS & OUR ENVIRONMENT!

Local Earth CommUNITY Building & Equinox Celebration! (Sept. 22nd)

Vision: Creating a healthy, happy & sustainable world!

Join us to celebrate the fall equinox on September 22nd! This is a community building event with many fun, inspiring and educational activities to participate in! There will be hands-on workshops and presentations from 1:00 – 7:00 PM focused on permaculture, sustainability, healthy lifestyle, natural building, organic agriculture, resource management, local currency and renewable energy. This is a fun-raising event to kick-off and support the San Diego CommUNITY Gardening Project!

In partnership with the World Beat Center supporting the International Day of Peace, September 21st.

Cost: Sliding suggested donation $10-20 (no one turned away for lack of funds). We also highly value any time, energy, love and material supplies that participants would like to contribute to the cause.

CommUNITY Yoga ~ Karma Gardens (Saturday, August 11th)

Join the Local Earth Collective for a beautiful evening of nature centered community yoga with Simone Ressner! (www.local-earth.org)

Together we will be rooting down and rising up as a harmonious collective! This will be a fun-raising event to generate resources for Karma Gardens in Ocean Beach. The ‘Karma Gardens’ are public plots of land planted with veggies and fruit for the community to enjoy and share. This is one ‘peace’ of the San Diego CommUNITY Garden Project. Please join us for a beautiful evening of yoga with an amazing teacher… let’s grow together as commUNITY!

The class will be held Saturday (Aug 11th) @ 6:45 PM on the Ocean Beach ‘greens’… this is the lawn near the pier (to the left of the main lifeguard tower if you are looking at the ocean).This will be a donation class to help support the Karma garden project. Anything that contributes to this project will be greatly appreciated! This may be $$’s, seeds, plants, fruit trees, work tools or volunteer time to help plant the gardens!

Local Earth Summer Solstice Celebration!

The Local Earth Collective invites you to join us for a community celebration of the Summer Solstice!

From 5:00 – 7:00 PM some of us will be doing some sun salutations… join us for some yoga if you’d like!

Starting around 7:00 PM we will begin potluck. We are wanting to promote the Local Earth values… so healthy local organic ingredients and dishes please! We want this to be a ‘leave a positive trace’ event with no waste created… so please bring your own reusable cutlery, plate, bowl, drinking vessel etc.

PLEASE bring your instruments, smile and joy!!! We will be creating music together by the firelight… as friends… and commUNITY!
We will gathering at one of the fire pits near the Life Guard Station at the end of Santa Monica Ave in Ocean Beach. Look for the group with lotsa instruments and big smiles! (We will try to put up a sign or something… just flow to the good vibe 🙂

Come celebrate as we enter into summer! It is time for the seeds we have been planting and nurturing though out the year to blossom into reality… a great opportunity to celebrate our manifestations and set new intentions!

Be Grateful & Inspired Day / Personal Day of Reflection & Joy / Create a Vision of Happiness Day (a day to be grateful for the beautiful gifts in our lives… a moment to say thank you and be happy with ourselves. a precious moment to offer gratitude for all our blessings. a moment to dream of the vision we wish to create in our lives… now is the time to get specific and focus on what is important to us in life. we now have the opportunity give these ideas power and reality by writing them down in our journal (if we don’t have a journal, let’s go get one!)… through the process of actually illustrating the vision we want to create, we are one step closer to manifesting our new reality!)
